Yoo Hoo! Having remained planted in one place in the Panhandle of Florida (also known as LA – Lower Alabama), Billy and Jane, along with Toy Manchester – Maggie May, have purchased a new travel trailer and truck. We are dreaming that our 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 4 x 4 2500 HD and 30 ft. Keystone Passport will be our “iron horses” in the coming years while we travel, visit friends and family, and sightsee our way around the country. With the help of this blog we hope that our family and friends can keep track of us and know when we may be coming to a driveway or campground near you. We full-timed in our previous travel trailer for about six months when we were between residences; however at this time, we are not quite ready to give up our sticks and bricks house, but we are itching to see this great country of ours with a trip to Alaska in our future. With our Good Sams Club membership in hand, we are preparing to begin our journey sometime in July. So much to do! How do you fit winter AND summer clothing into two feet of closet space? And keep the weight down? Oh my!

We took our maiden voyage in mid April to welcome our newest grandson into our lives. Life was good as we parked our camper in our daughter’s front yard. On the return trip home, the truck broke down; hence the new tow vehicle. After the breakdown and subsequent tow to a KOA campground in Cordele, GA, we enjoyed a delightful and unplanned stay for four additional days. In May we made a 5 day trip to Gulf Shores, AL to attend a beautiful beach wedding. It was a beautiful drive along the Gulf of Mexico the entire distance. NO OIL in the Gulf and no break downs this trip. Maggie, our Toy Manchester, enjoys our RV travels and the attention she receives along the way, in spite of the fact that everybody calls her a Min Pin.

We are beginning to put together the plans (what plans?) for our first real journey. After each of our children enjoy their FL vacations at our house this summer, we are looking forward to our first extended excursion. With plans to see friends and family along the way, Tannehill, AL, Asheville, NC, Rock Hill, SC, and the Outer Banks are just a few of the stops we hope to make on our trek to a Western NC family reunion in early August. After the family reunion we have tentative plans (our minds change quite easily) to head towards New Mexico and Colorado with hopes of making it to Montana before the snow falls.

We look forward to seeing much of our great country in our travels and making many new friends along the way. Hopefully, as time goes by I will learn how to make this website special by posting pictures and applications.
